When you think Singapore, you might picture Marina Bay Sands or the sleek calm of the Fullerton. For our long weekend escape, we were after something a little less predictable and a little more fun. There you have the QT Singapore.
We booked through Qantas Hotels and scored a pretty incredible deal. With QT’s solid rep back in Australia, we’ve stayed at The QT Melbourne previously and loved it, we were curious to see how the brand would translate to the tropics. In our opinion, they have nailed it.
A Historic Heartbeat
QT Singapore lives in what was once the iconic Telegraph Hotel, a building that dates back to the colonial era and hums with history. Thankfully, QT didn’t strip away the charm, they’ve layered their signature playful luxury right on top of it. With soaring ceilings, grand arched windows, and bold pops of modern art, it somehow just work.

Arrival and Immediate Satay
We landed late, slightly rumpled from the flight but still buzzing with excitement. Check-in was smooth, with that familiar QT flair of quirky staff uniforms, mood lighting, and that signature scent in the lobby that hits you like a warm hug. Bags dropped, we made a beeline for Lau Pa Sat just next door, yes, literally next door, where Satay Street came alive under fairy lights and the sizzle of grilled skewers. Nothing like smoky satay and a Tiger beer to kick off your Singapore weekend.

Vibes, Views, and Vertical Delight
QT has always leaned into bold design and cheeky energy, and Singapore is no exception. The lobby is all lush textures and playful decadence. The rooftop pool, though, is where the real magic happens. Perched above the city with a bar running down its side, it’s the perfect mix of resort relaxation and urban glam where we spent an afternoon sipping cocktails, watching the day turn to night.

The Room
Our room was surprisingly spacious for Singapore standards. High ceilings added to the sense of airiness, and everything felt fresh and well-considered. Modern finishes, stylish touches, and one of the most comfortable beds we’ve flopped into in a while. The bathroom was a total win with separate shower room, a big bathtub for soaking, and plush amenities that felt more spa than standard.

One thing to note is that the room lacked natural light, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it feels quite intentional, a moody, cocoon-like vibe that QT often leans into. But, our one small window barely let in any daylight, so if you’re someone who needs sunshine to start the day, this might not be your dream setup. If you’re into sultry lighting and boutique drama, though, you’ll love it.
Breakfast Goals
Our rate included QT’s signature a la carte breakfast, and it was hands down an incredible hotel breakfast. This was thoughtfully curated, beautifully plated, and delicious. Think eggs your way, fresh-baked pastries, tropical fruit, and solid coffee (not always a given in hotel-land).

The Location
QT Singapore sits in the heart of the city, with a buzzy neighbourhood vibe that’s close to key sights but far enough from the chaos to feel like a retreat. Being steps from Lau Pa Sat and Satay Street is a game changer for late-night eats. Plus, it’s an easy walk or quick MRT ride to most of the city’s highlights.
What We Loved
- That classic QT vibe: fun, funky, and never too serious
- Rooftop pool with city views and cocktails
- Huge room with modern design and comfy everything
- A la carte breakfast (seriously, we’d go back just for this)
- Prime location next to hawker heaven
What Could Be Better
- Potentially some more poolside loungers during peak hours.
- Natural light lovers beware, the room’s tiny window and moody lighting might not be for everyone
The Bottom Line
QT Singapore is a brilliant blend of heritage and modern vibes. It brings all the personality of its Aussie siblings, with just enough local flavour to make it feel special. Whether you’re here for the food, the architecture, or just a break from routine, this is a stay that hits the sweet spot between luxe and laid-back.
Would we stay again? In a heartbeat and next time, we’re packing extra swimmers, because that rooftop pool deserves more than one visit.
